When I decided I was going to propose to my fiancée I knew I couldn’t just go with any generic engagement ring, it had to be right for her. After visiting nearly half a dozen jewellers, though, none of the rings I saw truly spoke to me. Some of them came close, sure, and one of them was even about 80% of the way to being perfect but I knew that I couldn’t propose to my future wife with just 80% of perfect.
And so, after talking to some of my relatives, I was pointed to Edwards and Davies where I was able to actually commission them for a custom designed engagement ring and, my God, the results were beyond my wildest hopes!
Commissioning these guys was shockingly easy and the professionalism they showed to me was frankly incredible. All I had to do was email them asking if they were able to work with me, they enthusiastically agreed, and I sat down with a note book and some pencils to scribble down my design ideas. From there, we talked back and forth for several weeks about the ring, going through the 3D modelling of the rough design, revisions on the design, and then inviting me to come into the store to see a 3D printed wax version of the ring design I had finally approved.
After only a few weeks of kindly and clearly talking with me about different sizes of diamonds, the precious metals for the band of the ring, and the arrangement of some decorative elements, THIS masterpiece is the result!
When I came into the store to pick up the finished ring, it felt like the entire weight of the world lifted off my shoulders. It was utterly stunning and the luster of the diamonds they helped chose for me sparkled like the sun. It actually WAS perfect!
Needless to say, when I proposed to her, she said yes instantly.
This project could have been exhausting, overwhelming, and riddled with anxieties but working with the incredible designers and jewellers at this store made the entire process not merely straightforward and engaging but legitimately thrilling, seeing this piece of my and my fiancée’s future come to life one email at a time.
Before this, Edwards and Davies was a jewellery shop I understood to be staffed with polite professionals. After this experience, I can’t imagine myself recommending any other group of artists and experts else to my friends and family.
This kind of exceptional quality and craftsmanship is something you simply don’t find anymore. Do yourself a favour and, if you’re looking for a ring or any piece of jewellery meant to last a lifetime, visit these guys!!! For me, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life, eh! read less
